Yeah, I'm sure that was the only reason.

It wasn't that the dem candidates are defeatists, who want to cut and run, who consider our President to be a bigger criminal than Saddam Hussein ever was, who have compared our troops to the nazi stormtroopers, who have claimed that W knew about 9/11 and did nothing, that talk down the economy when it's roaring, etc., etc....

It wasn't that despite the few but expected setbacks, that W responded to 9/11 in a manner most Americans agreed with, and allowed the people to keep more of what they earn, thus spurring the economy.

Nope. It was campaign ads and flyers.

The reasons Dems keep losing is because they have absolutely no clue about reality, and can only win when they pretend to be something they're not. They must be so proud!

You forgot to mention how Bush caused hurricane katrina by having the NSA develop a super secret wind creator that creates tropical storms, because, of course, he hates black people.

Seriously though...

What you said is right on. People were totally behind 9/11 retaliation and were also behind invading Iraq for the most part. Only after the fact, now that we know more are people saying we shouldn't have. The only problem is that without invading in the first place we wouldn't know what we do now.

You simply have to trust the presidency that they are doing the best they can with the information they have.

"The reasons Dems keep losing is because they have absolutely no clue about reality, and can only win when they pretend to be something they're not." Zaph

Halliburton Earthquake Generator Mk I: Caused the tsunami.

Halliburton Storm Generator Mk I: Caused Hurricane Katrina so the oil companies could get rich.

Halliburton Levee Dismantler MkI: Order by W because he hates black people (please excuse all the blacks he's hired for senior cabinet positions. They're just uncle toms on the plantation, don't you know?)

Halliburton Flu Vaccine Destroyer Mk I: So...... Where did the threatened pandemic go, and why did we end up with too much vaccine? Oh, yeah, because the entire scare was a FRAUD!

And it goes on.

Sorry, but you can only expect to be elected consistently while being stupid enough to think this way while you have a monopoly in the media, and despite your best efforts, YOU DON'T ANYMORE.

I am considering the idea of McCain/Rice as a combination. I don't know enough about McCain but why do you all believe him to be not conservative enough?

Experience.

It's more the way he comports himself than what he supports, not that everything he supports is all that great. gain, he seems to be more interested in having the media like him than in defending what is right. He grandstands too much. He supports things like campaign finance reform (which it isn't) that are blatantly unconstitutional (no matter what the nine lawyers in black robes say).

hahah I dont know about that. my mom went to brown and was a card carrying member of the young socialist league. I'm also a co-leader of amnesty international at my school, and im attending a protest in DC in april. hahah! but you never know, I could get hit by a bus and change my way of thinking

It usually begins happening when you get your first paycheck and see just how much of what YOU earned the government takes. It then has the temerity to tell you that you're a greedy SOB who should give more.

Sometimes, it happens when you get mugged and realize that gun control isn't nearly as effective as you thought it was.

Hopefully, you'll never experience the latter.

Roxor -- here's a good test of whether or not you may become conservative: When you get your grades at the end of this year, would you be willing to give up your A's to a C student that needs them? After all, you are simply fortunate to be blessed with brains; and your hard work, well, may just be because you have parents who instilled a strong work ethic in you. So, how about taking straight B's next semester and letting the C student enjoy a higher average. It will make it easier for him or her to get into a good school and enjoy some of the advantages you have! (This is the student equivalent of Zaphod's paycheck argument). ;)

Nah. For that scenario to work, he would have to have the school administration come down and FORCE him to give part of his A to a C student so they could both have a B. ;)

Come to think of it, the administration would have to take his A down to an D, and thus raise 3 F's to D's, and then hold a press conference lambasting the kid for complaining about it because, after all, nobody really needed an A anyway, and it was unfair to the three F's who never bothered to show up for class because they felt oppressed. He had more than his fair share!

re: The Liberal Disease
I love the line Schwarzenegger used when asked how he can handle being married to a member of the Kennedy clan when he is a Republican. He said, "Well, I promised to love her in sickness & in health, and as a Democrat, she has a sickness!".

So, Zaphod, who woulda thought you & Arnie would have something in common! (I know, I know, he's "not conservative enough!")

"but it is about time that women are considered- just as their male counterparts-"

just wondering, when were women NOT allowed to be considered for President? nothing in the Constitution prohibits women from this position. it's just that no women have done it yet.
