OP, tell your friend to stay in school. Work on increasing the GPA. To get a “real” job in Marketing, an internship is fine and dandy, but relevant work experience can be just as worthwhile.

A 2.6 is no reason to give up.

Marketing is a fictional career.

Whistleblower1, please explain what you mean by “fictional.”

now im confused by this thread

Editing my comment to be a little less coarse:

whistleblower - Marketing is an integral function of any business. You will not find a single experienced businessperson who tells you marketing is fictional or useless. Billions of dollars annually is devoted to marketing spend. They must know something you (we) don’t.

@Johnson181

What was their selected discipline inside Engineering and also where is the general location that they’re working at.

^^^I’m just curious, BTW.

It would be sketch to list actual companies/schools they’re interning at, so here:
One’s a compsci working in stl.
One’s an ee working in norcal.
Two are bme’s - one in stl, one in socal.

Engineering GPAs are weighted by employers. If your friend had a 2.0 but took tough courses it could turn into over a 3.0.

Lets not feed the ■■■■■

Learn a trade.

Learn a trade or start a small business.

And no one cares about your college GPA. As long as it’s above 3.0, you’re fine.

Did you read the title of this thread pandem?

■■■■■!

10 char

^ You say that like it’s a bad thing…

Well don’t support him. I doubt any of this stuff is real. Something is seriously wrong with whistleblower if he really thinks his situation is bad. It’s just made up.

It’s not my situation. I have a weak GPA but it’s certainly well over 3.0. It would be higher but my IQ is too high.

Is the trade legal?

Same here… mine is 2.4 but if my iq was lower it would be mid 3.0 (thankfully not).

Some of this stuff is pretty funny, really. I particularly like the “internship or live in squalor” bit.
