My views on social policies are more in line with the Democratic party’s, but my opinions on fiscal policy are decidedly Republican. I guess that makes me libertarian, but I’d probably just end up voting for a moderate democrat or republican since libertarians rarely win.

“^ The thing that no one understands about that quote is that liberal and conservative meant different things decades ago and they are also different in the UK.”

What sorts of issues were they working out back then in Britain? Like, what is the quote really referring to?

I’m a Republicrat.

I love the Ronald Reagan comments, do you guys realize how much debt “Conservative” Reagan added to the country?

I also find it ironic how Reagan’s biological son is a liberal and an Atheist.

I’m not sure if there was any specific issue.
Churchill just liked to talk a lot.
IIRC, it was around the time of WWII, although I am not sure if that is relevant or not.

I am intrigued though and should do research.

Hmm… in reference to that quote, it seems as though it was not said by Churchill at all.

It actually came from a French man and was completely misquoted.

Interesting.

On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, I’m an extremely liberal leaning conservative.
But on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and weekends, I’m more of a conservative liberal.

Conservative

during WWII, the of the collectivist consensus…

I base my political views completely and utterly on one news source.
No, not Fox News.
No, not MSNBC.
Yes, The Onion.

I’m very liberal on social issues. I’ll be the first to admit that I don’t really have a stance on fiscal and economic issues. I don’t fully understand them and hope to take classes in college that will help me form an opinion. I like conservative ideas in theory, but also think that many liberal ideas are more realistic (if more expensive).

In case you didn’t hear the late-breaking news, the gold medal in the downhill was taken away from American Lindsey Vonn. It was determined that President Obama is going downhill faster than she is. – Mitt Romney

I would be an Independent, but since Independents rarely win, I will most likely join the Democratic Party.

American Republicans are disgraces to the developed world.

“I only regret that I have but one life to lose for my country.”-Nathan Hale

^^ Please don’t say things like that.

I can criticize whomever I want to criticize.

@ryan-

Only some of them.

Some of them are a boon to the developed world. They provide humor to the rest of us :).

Well i’m glad you think Abraham Lincoln was a disgrace. end sarcasm

^ What a giant leap that was.

And Abraham Lincoln would be a Democrat today. The Republican Party of that era is now the Democratic party and vice versa.

That’s not true.
