POLL for guys: Makeup on girls: Yay or Nay

male

yay

I think alot of the guys on here saying nay don't realize how much minimal make up girls wear (i know that sounds paradoxical but hear me out)

There's a whole lot of stuff out there that when applied properly won't even let you know the girl's wearing makeup. I bet alot more guys on here should be saying yay, and just don't realize the girls they see are in fact wearing some makeup.

yay.

makes girls look even prettier :) cant say no to that haha

nay
Though I admit, if I get a nasty zit, I hide it. But 95% of the time--nay.

yay (girl) because it's fun, and I like looking different sometimes. I only wear makeup 1/3 of the time because I oversleep the other 2/3 :p

I started buying makeup because my closet couldn't hold more clothes/shoes.

I asked my bf if my face looked different, and he said no, so I don't think foundation has to be caked on or even noticeable. If it's done just to improve how you look, why not? And yes, I agree with Iwannabe_Brown, sometimes you might not even notice that a girl has makeup on.

hey can i do a mini poll in this thread?
It's kinda old, but here it is, i thought of it when you all mentioned b.spears with no makeup .. and yeah she's having twins, someone said on the radio that she was reported as saying (in a really southern accent), "how'm i gonna breast feed 2 kids at once"

anyway, the poll:

Last week, Fox aired a television program called Stars Without Makeup, where cameras captured celebrities in private moments, in other words, when they weren't at a premiere, party, or event. What do you think of taking shots of stars like that?

A) It's awful. They are humans and deserve to have some privacy, just like anyone else. I wouldn't like it if someone jumped out at me with a camera when I was on a private date or running an errand with no makeup on or something like that.

B) It's hilarious. I'm sorry, but if you're famous you give up the right to privacy, and you become fair game for the paparazzi.

C) Don't really care.

I say yay for the original poll, it's fun and a little bit of something here or there looks good, and if you do it right, it's unnoticeable.

Nay: 18
Yay: 15

Although I find it refreshing to see celebs without their shiny coating, I don't think it's right to catch them unawares. It should be a person's choice what face is shown to the public.

Yay...I can't believe anyone would disagree! Makeup can make the UGLIEST chicks look hot or decent. Of course, the makeup has to be applied correctly(the prostitute look is not sexy). But seriously, wouldn't you want to have a hot chick and not an ugly one? It's really simple.

lol..yes I would assume hot chicks are far more preferable to ugly ones.

What I don't understand is - guys who say no makeup because it's unnatural still expect girls to shave and do their eyebrows and such. Do I smell a bit of hypocrisy or what?

In response to sarorah's poll - I agree with tkm. It's nice to see they're still human but it's wrong to catch them by surprise like that.

For Sarorah's poll, B... well not hillarious but it's a 'fair game'. Once you get famous, the public will want to know more about you, and so paps will follow. It's human nature..
They show their face to the whole world in movies, and if they refuse to show themselves normally, it's like, hiding yourself and being a bit selfish - only wanting to show your good side and never your 'normal' side.

And i voted yay for this but I can't belive how many people have said NAY. Boys, i guess it's reasonable.. maybe you guys have caked on girls in your school and belive that all girls look like that with even the most minimal make up on. But GIRLS!! How could you not say YAY? I was so excited when I bought my first lipgloss at the age of 9! I'm a regular (minimal) makeup user and I still get excited when buying new products.. and experimenting and practicing them on at night is fun. After loads of practises, it feels so good to get it right and wear it confidently at day time.

lol yes, I love buying new makeup and trying different things.

I don't think its really hypocritical of guys to expect girls to shave...since we want them to shave their facial hair and put on deodorant and such...Plus, I actually think that girls mind body hair/cleaniness more than guys, so many girls do it for themselves.

NoFX - you're right, makeup is a lot of fun to play with. It's like art! lol

I still think it's hypocritical though. If guys expect girls to defy nature by removing body hair (and facial hair for that matter; tweezing is painful!! haha, yeah..I felt the need to whine), how can they then make the argument that they expect girls to be natural by not wearing makeup? I expect guys to shave and wear deodorant but I don't object to makeup on guys because it's unnatural; rather, I would object because it generally emphasizes feminine rather than masculine qualities like large, dramatic eyes and big lips.
Makeup is actually fun for many girls, unlike shaving which is generally seen as a hassle. I for one refuse to let a guy take away the fun in dressing up! lol..but I suppose that's just me. :)

We don't like to think about these things, shaving and all. Do what needs to be done to look like a girl.

Wow, I didn't know guys had that stong oppinions on make-up. I hate it when you can see that someone is wearing foundation (if there's a line by your chin) but else I'm a yay for make-up, unless it makes you look a) like a slut and b) like a clown, than there's something wrong. Natural make-up is good, it just enhances your best features. Female by the way, and I totally agree with LadyinRed.

I don't think it really matters that much. I dated this girl who was said she didn't wear make-up at all, and she was very attractive, so I was thought it was pretty cool that she managed to look nice without make-up. Then I found out she was lying from one of her friends who laughed at the idea of my girlfriend not wearing make up.

So I guess make up on girls is alright as long as it isn't globbed on and without the makeup you look you look about the same as you did with it on. And don't lie about no wearing it, that is just wierd.

Nay: 34
Yay: 18

YAY

However is very minimal amounts! I had a girl friend some years back, and when I'd kiss her I was always worried part of her face would break off!
