[Poll] How much do you study every day?

I'm doing a little survey here for personal reasons and I'd like to know how long you guys study at home, on average.

It would be nice if you could copy and paste this template and fill in your answers.

Hours per day doing mandatory homework:
Hours per day reviewing/studying for tests, etc:
Optional: Hours per day doing ECs (list them):
Current year in high school:
Current GPA and/or percentage average and/or school ranking:
University(s) you're realistically reaching for:

I'm looking for answers from high school students, both past and present, so please feel free to post your answers from when you were in high school if you've graduated already (and if you could, please change the "university(s) you're reaching for" section into "university(s) you were accepted into).

Thanks a bunch everyone! Hope this helps other people as well.

Hours per day doing mandatory homework: There’s non-mandatory homework? Can this be brought to my school?
It entirely depends. I procrastinate so it’s usually something like eight hours straight once a week.

Hours per day reviewing/studying for tests, etc: I only do this the day before the test, usually for about two or three hours for AP Bio. That’s the only class I study for.

Optional: Hours per day doing ECs (list them):
Mentorship = a few hours a few days a week
Piano = half an hour on Wednesdays
Scholastic Bowl/Science Club = three total hours per week
Job = around 5 hours per week because they give me pathetic hours

Current year in high school: 11th (3rd year)
Current GPA and/or percentage average: 3.984
University(s) you’re reaching for: Reed, Wellesley, Smith

Hours per day doing mandatory homework: 1
Hours per day reviewing/studying for tests, etc: 0
Optional: Hours per day doing ECs (list them): 0
Current year in high school: 10th
Current GPA and/or percentage average: 3.75
University(s) you’re reaching for: Johns Hopkins

I did not study once through high school. I sometimes did homework the morning it was due, so about half an hour a day I guess. I had a 3.6 and just got into nyu stern. Studying’s overrated.

Hours per day doing mandatory homework: 3-4
Hours per day reviewing/studying for tests, etc: 3-4
Optional: Hours per day doing ECs (list them): 1-2
Current year in high school: Junior
Current GPA and/or percentage average and/or school ranking: 3.18 UW
University(s) you’re reaching for: Northwestern, UMich, NYU, UIUC

Hours per day doing mandatory homework: 3-6 hours on average.
Hours per day reviewing/studying for tests, etc: At least 1 per day because I have a Calculus class after school and we are constantly reviewing. But other than that it can take 5-7 hours if a test is coming up.
Optional: Hours per day doing ECs (list them): 1-3 depending on HW load. Photography, writing, blogging, writing self-help articles, community service, or yoga class.
Current year in high school: Senior
Current GPA and/or percentage average and/or school ranking: 3.74
University(s) you’re realistically reaching for: Rice

And trust me, I’m not an overachiever just because I spend a lot of time doing HW. I just do things realllly slowly.

Hours per day doing mandatory homework: 15 minutes at most lol… Usually do this in the morning before class starts

Hours per day reviewing/studying: 0 when there isn’t an AP bio test the next day, in which case I study about 3 hours

Hours per day ECs: I work about 8 hours a week

GPA/class rank: 3.6 UW, 4.0 W, top third in a class of 640

Grade: SENIOR STATUS THANK GOD

Colleges: Going to Ohio State next year.

Composite SAT: 1400/2150 single sitting… 31 ACT with perfect essay

Other: And currently in 5 APs, 8 total by graduation., goes to show that a tough course load doesn’t always mean you have to spend a ton of time outside of class doing work. Most days I don’t have any homework to do, actually

Thanks for all of the replies so far, guys.

If future posters could add another section to their template entitled “Composite SAT score and/or ACT score:” that would be great. Also, feel free to add any more additional information.

Thanks again!
