<p>no, the ivy's are not overrated. They at the top of almost every college guide book for best colleges and they will continue to be there for years to come. This isn't due to pure chance. The ivys attract some of the best profs, resources, and students in the world. If somebody can find reasonable proof that they dont, they maybe i'll reconsider.</p>

<p>It's an up-and-coming school, due in large part to its generosity in merit aid to top applicants. It's very strong in the sciences, especially for pre-med.</p>
<p>The presidential debates in the Bush/Kerry election were held at WUSTL and Emory. I have wondered what public-relations discussions were held about that and why those schools were chosen.</p>
<p>Kerry and Bush (and Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, Howard Dean, Joe Lieberman, Dick Cheney, and Ashcroft) all attended Yale.</p>
