POLL: October SAT math question( The trail question )

There seems to be a LOT of debate over this question. It's come down to people that think the answer is 8:3 and 2:1.

Since we can't actually make polls on here, please post your answer below, no need to explain why. This is just to get a consensus on the question. Please do not argue, and only post your answers, no need for anything else. I'll tally up the results tonight and edit the original thread.

Thanks.

I got 8:3.

I got 2:1

10char

2:1

10char

My answer was 2:1.

I put 8:3… I ended up drawing the trail out twice.

2:1

Just posting more so CC lets me.

2:1
I’m dead sure. If I’m wrong, I need to get my vision checked.

2:1. And I frequently got 800s on practice tests in math.

EDIT: Also, the results of this poll shouldn’t be taken too seriously. The final question in an SAT Math section is designed to fool most people, so if we were to go with the most popular answer, we’d probably be wrong!

8:3 I saw no mention of rest stop at the beginning. I read it multiple times.

I got 2:1. Hopefully, its right :3

8:3, i even grinded out numbers and it worked for every case

^ kantiss and katniss replying in quick succession? Hmmm…

there is just no way it was 8:3…

There was 1 at the beginning and then 1 every 6miles.

0 miles = 1
6 miles = 2
12 miles = 3
18 miles = 4

Collegeboard knew people would miss the 1 placed at the very beginning

2:1 10char

2:1 for sure. It has to be, haha

Yeah guys, I did quickly and got 8:3. Redid most of the test and went back to that question, read it over again and changed my answer to what I’m 100% sure is the correct one.

0,2.5,5,7.5,10,12.5, 15, 17.5 = 8

0,6,12,18 = 4

What we’re saying is that there was no marker at the beginning, only at the 6, 12, and 18. Not at the 9. Therefore, 8:3, not 8:4.

It comes down to whether or not there was one at the start. I remember there was only one of the two at the start, and not the other, but I could be wrong. It seems like most people picked 2:1, but I guess we’ll find out.

Thanks for the votes guys.

2:1
Source: I drew a picture and read it over 5 times, 800 on math II, and didn’t make any other mistakes of all the questions posted on CC threads.

I also remember it clearly saying that there two of them at the begining.

2:1
I had a feeling it wasn’t 8:3
