What’s the question ? I wanna try solve it.

2:1 no doubt about it

Question: a hiking trail is 19 miles.

There is a rest stop at the beginning and every 6 miles.
There is also a marker every 2.5 miles, with one at the beginning.

What’s the ratio of marker:rest stop?

2:1

I contest this. The question is easy, obviously, but I read that only the marker had one at the beginning, there was NO rest stop at the beginning. Obviously the question is easy for whoever read it correctly, but the debate here is whether or not there was a rest stop at the start.

There was. I read it over multiple times because I thought it was a trick question. Evidently the question did its job…

I also spent at least the last 5 minutes on it, which is why it’s so hard to believe I read it wrong. I was pretty certain only 1 of them had a stop at the beginning, but I wasn’t sure which. I guess we’ll find out in a few weeks, maybe all of you got it wrong and I got it right. :)

Look Reckie, you’re looking at -6 to -10 raw according to your post in the other thread. Is there really no way you could have misread it? Have some humility.

Most of those who are looking at -0 to -1 raw have said it was indeed 2:1.

Haha 50/50 shot. I feel like an idiot about the cube question; I’m terrible at those visual questions. That and the circle/tangent line question; it was 65 degrees and I think I put 70 :/

Obviously it was a trick question, and in no way did I say I couldn’t have misread it, in fact I most likely did considering so many people are saying 2:1. Does anyone remember what # it was on the test?

And moose can you explain the circle/tangent line question?

Uhhh, I’ll do my best

Basically, there was a vertical line to the left of the circle, touching it in one place. Meanwhile, there was an isosceles (I think) triangle with an angle of 50 degrees. I have no idea why I put 70 lol

definitely 2:1

I did not get the tangent line and circle one, i omitted it but i remember the problem quite clearly

There was a triangle within the circle which used 2 radii and a chord. Y was the angle outside of the triangle against the tangent line so that Y=90-side angle of isosceles triangle (isosceles because the 2 radii are equal).

What you had to do was take the top angle and subtract it from 180 and then divide that by 2 to get the triangles side angles then find Y.

I skipped it because it just felt impossible, all the angles in the multiple choice were around 65-70 and I THINK the top angle of the triangle was 50 degrees which would make the side angles atleast 65. therefore Y should have been 35

But I digress, I skipped it for a reason

I got 2:1. I got 8:3 the first time, then re did it.It’s definitely 2:1…

Like this, Optimoose20?

Forgive my drawing skills.

yeah that’s kind of like it. Kawaiidesudesu described it much better!

Here is my rendition of the problem

I suppose it could be 65 if Y was referring to the interior angle but i was pretty freaking sure it was talking about the exterior angle

Heck, if it was talking about the interior angle why was there a tangent line there?

kawaii yours is very good but your Y is wrong. There was an arrow that pointed(I forget exactly how) from one part to another. Other than that it’s perfect.

^ yeah, I really thought it was one of those double ended curved arrows that represent angles from the outside of the triangle to the tangent line.

But that would make Y=35 which straight up was not an answer

Yes it was a double ended curved arrow, just not sure from where to where, sorry I can’t be of more help. Maybe someone else will speak up.
