Poll: What % of us are lying on CC about our scores?

Yeah i lied about my score. I said I got a 2250 in reality i got a 1250 :P

jk.

dont see the point. Whats there to be embarrassed about. Not like ppl here will say oh that kid XXX is so stupid. Ill go laugh at him irl.

I certainly did not lie about my score.

I scored 1670. Am I embarassed? No? DO I care about the SAT? No

k "I'm not your average CCer" sanders

it makes no sense to lie about your scores on a site when you are asking people to evaluate your chances. of course if you post 4.0 GPA, ranked 1/1000, and 2400SAT people are going to say you will get in almost everywhere. But what does that do for you, please get a life.

how do you fill the care cup?

I never posted a chances thread so I never had the opportunity to lie. Plus it would defeat the purpose.

this thread reminds me of that dude, iwannago2ivy or something...lol~

It's funny sometimes because you can see blatant score fluctuations in a matter of days....

one day some person has a 2230...the next day the same person hsa a 2350 and then a 2290....

I am not lying about my scores, but I AM lying about where I live but only to protect my identity.

I totally f***ed up my essay wtih a 7, and I'm proud of it. I've never been good at writing essays with a time limit.

So you do not live in Annapolis, MD, which btw, is spelled wrong on your profile... so that means if we were to look for you, we WOULDN'T look there, since, you know, you don't live there...

...or is that what you want us to think...? Mwaha.

i never lie, I just sometimes dont say what I got. SAT last year was 1940, 720 math, 630CR, 590 writing. This is why I am applying to science schools. 1350 sounds better than 1940.
ACT was a 31.
Lieing is definately about the respect here and people feel embarrassed even though its a computer screen. Now go into the chances thread and post what you think about me getting into RPI, WPI, Carnegie Mellon, and BC

legendofmax: Thanks for alerting me to the typo.

We'll never know...but it can only help us to work harder.

I would say roughly 20% lie on CC about their scores. I suppose it tends to be more of a respect level you gain on the forumn if you have a higher score, other than that it doesn't really make sense why one would lie on CC.

well, I kind of sent what I expected before I actually took the sat because it's just didn't seem people would really evaluate me if I said that was only what I expected (they would think I'm expecting too much or something). Of course, I wrote my actual scores when I got them, although I'm not satisfied with them.
Why would ppl lye? I never thought about it seriously, I mean, estimating it to 40%, not to mention 90%??? OMG, people really need some support out there...
Let's just say it's great! I mean, if all those ppl who scored 2300+ are lying, that means we, poor common mortals with 600s stand a better chance since the poll isn't THAT competitive.
You guys acutally improved my day! Thanx :)

why would anyone lie about their scores on this forum? it's better to just say what you really got so people can give you a better opinion about the likelihood of you being accepted at college X. i agree that if you're just like "OMG i'm a 4.0, 1/5000, 2400 SAT, 800x5 SAT iis, all 5's on AP exams, etc" then of course people will be like yeah well there's not much to improve on in that department so why bother asking?
so i must leave the cup empty _/ :)
good luck to all!!!

Who is bored enough to lie about test scores on a forum just to gain respect? Anyone who lies about his/her test scores should consider seeing a psychiatrist.

i've never lied and seriously cc is competitive and people really for the most part rn't lying. CC is reality. Admission is this tough so let CC enlighten those who don't know.

I think that anyone who spends lots of time on an SAT forum is obviously obsessed (some people in a good way, maybe, others in a negative way)

I think most of the people are telling the truth.

I wouldn't lie about how my score went down 90 points on the November SAT from 2140 to 2050. Nobody gives a **** about my score, and it's not like I have anything to prove...

I'm sure a small percentage of people lie for whatever reason... who cares?

Why would anyone lie? Doesn't that defeat the purpose of posting on a college forum? The whole point is to receive opinions and advice. How will you receive accurate feedback if you post false scores? People who do that are only hurting themselves.
