Any others? Does anybody agree w/ Gdelgado? If not, what would you change? Thanks Gdelgado.

that list sounds about right, I’m sure someone would debate #6-9, but #1-5 is right imo. I picked UCSD for poli sci because I live in SD and it’s a great program. You also have to consider that Berkley, UCLA, UCSD & UCI all have poli sci departments that rank up there with the best in the world. There is a ranking here Political Studies – Social Science; that has UCSD #6, UCI #7, Berkley #11 and UCLA #14 in the world. The UC’s have great poli sci departments.

jrmorse: May I ask what were your grades and test scores when you got accepted as a Freshmen into UCSD? What is your emphasis on for poli sci?

I was a transfer student (I had a 3.7 gpa from a community college), my concentration is international relations.

Do you think the job possibilities after achieving a major in poli sci will be decent and pay well?

poli sci has a large range of possibilities for employment, it really depends on what you’re interested in.

I mean I was thinking about achieving a masters in poli sci with an emphasis on American Government. I haven’t thought at all about the job possibilities though and the income I could receive w/ that degree.
