Poly Sci : Let me in on the secret.

maybe im trippin. and what i am or am not trippin about is nothing wrong.

i just wanted to know, whats up with the cash in on UC poly sci majors?

I have no idea what you’re asking.

hahahahahaha

Most of us Poli Sci majors want to go to law school.

^Well, maybe “many,” not “most.” Does that answer her question, though?

“whats up with the cash in on UC poly sci majors?”

I guess I just don’t know what “cash in” means in this context. I read the question as, “Why are people taking advantage of UC political science majors for monetary profit?”

It still makes no sense.

What the hell are you asking? Be more lucid, please. As Hayward1991 observed, most Poli Sci majors vie for professional and/or grad school.

Does anyone else get the sense that OP did one line of coke too many tonight?

Hahahahaha. What the deuce does that mean…?

@nick_scheu: Erm. Yes.

■■■■■. calm down cc fam. haha sorry let me rephrase because i was using innocent sarcasm.

it seems as if there is some sort of secret “gold at the end of the rainbow” with the rate of how im seeing so many people go for political science nowadays.

aside from the sarcasm, im simply asking what can you do with the poly sci degree, is it a bandwagon effect? does anyone else notice a popular trend? or am i just tripping.

sorry :(

Poli sci and psychology. I’m not too sure what the general reasons are for those two.

You trippin’ ma.

It’s easier to get poly sci classes at a cc than chem/bio, English, or basically any other type of classes. At least it is at my cc. I’m considering changing my major to poly sci just because I got such a horrible registration date and won’t get into any of my lit classes. That might sound horrible to die-hard poly sci or lit people but I honestly don’t care what I major in… I just want to get out of cc and get into med school! Haha well, that probably isn’t what most people are thinking when they go poly sci, but maybe a few?
Also, it’s a popular pre-law major.

Poly Sci’s just fun for me, plus as long as you do your research and back up your statements, you cant really be wrong .

can you get into the CIA or FBI with poly sci?

@calibabe, non trad pre med student?

It’s an interest of mine and always has been (I threw a tantrum after the O.J. verdict at the age of 9 or whatever haha.) I know it well, so that helps.

I’ll be going to law school, which is the path a lot of us are aiming for. But even without that, there are tons of federal internships for poli sci students (the UCDC program, for example) and agency jobs.

Thisislife’s post is all I know of why most people choose poli sci or psychology. They chose it because it was interesting and fun. I’m currently in a PS class and we always get off track because someone brings up Egypt, Libya, Obama, Osama, etc. I didn’t notice that even in my micro macro econ classes. Even my calc1 and 2 didn’t get off track with off topic math questions. Not necessarily a bad thing, it’s makes for a better atmosphere when students are actually interested in what they are being taught imo.

hmmmm. thank you for that info. federal jobs are where it is.

the fun of Poli Sci is its all about getting off track and discussing real world events .
The only problem is that while all my Poli Sci and history grades are awesome( since I’ a pretty good writer ) I find science classes to be very difficult since I can’t argue my way out of a problem .

By far the coolest thing has been having Poli-Sci classes with students from other nations . You get to hear other points of view . And if your really lucky you may get a teacher from another nation . Hearing a prof talk about how America lacks common wealth status is rather interesting !

is there study abroad for poly sci? is there also a facebook group for poly sci at UC Davis?

what are these science classes? im lookin on assist and its not even asking me to complete even one of the science classes i have to have to take for molecular bio.

im trying to avoid math here, ■■■■■. im thinking i will go poly sci then post bacc for dental school.

that trip to DC sounds awesome, i just told my mom that, her eyes lit up. :D

Avoiding math and going to dental school? lolno
