No guarantees, of course, but I’d say you’re looking pretty good.

Agree that you’ll be a competitive candidate for admission. Good luck!

I didn’t know that people like you actually existed. You’ll get in somewhere good, and you surely know that.

No I don’t. KIV that I have a terrible GPA.

Your scores on APs and SATs are very good but what I would be concerned about is that Pomona is a liberal arts school with a holistic approach to education. From your stats, you seem like a very math/science type of person and it may hurt you when applying to Pomona, or any liberal arts school in general which still have a major emphasis on the arts/writing/humanities. Have you considered looking somewhere like Harvey Mudd which is also a LAC part of the Claremont Colleges but more emphasis on the math and science fields. Don’t be discouraged because every college has space for kids like you, but I would say look at other places just in case.

^I love how blindly you’ve leaped to the conclusion that I am a math/science person. Look at my profile again carefully. None of the six extracurricular leadership positions I have are related to mathematics or science. I’ve been a writer and debater for six years and I’ve demonstrated interest in many branches of the social sciences and humanities over the years. Just because I attend a math/science institution doesn’t mean I am a certain sort of person.

You should also look carefully again at your profile, srrinath. Yes, your extracurriculars may portray you as a humanities person, but your testing is STRONGLY math/science biased…not a single humanities test on there.

You have to understand that with such narrow testing like that, even with varied EC’s, admissions officers may tend to see you as a math/science person especially when taking into account your school.

kcmdonahue is right. Testing indicates a preference for science/math, for better or worse. In your case, I suggest explaining the GPA, if anything disastrous happened. For example, you don’t really have a 3.1 if you hadn’t say…bombed a class, or got sick, etc. Extenuating circumstances.

Your rec letters and personal statement make all the difference now. Good hunting!
