just wondering, but if the mypomona website still works after decisions are sent out, and i haven't received a decision, is this indicative?? thanks.

Will be going to the pomona thing on the 21st.

Congrats, saasaa! Oh dear, your stats make me worry. I want to check the mail, but it's looooocked. >_< Stupid locked mailbox. I have to wait for the parentals to get home.

Yeah the acceptance was by the face the most flattering of all the others (UCs, go figure). Of course my rejection from stanfurd wasn't very flattering :P.

accepted....incredibly happy. unreal, almost. i'm trying to fly out on the 21st for the admitted student day but i'm on the east coast and it's very expensive. pomona gave me an amazing financial aid package (46,500 a year) and I was wondering If i called and made a plea to financial aid if they could somehow reimburse me the travel costs. my parents don't want me to make a decision without ever visiting california or the campus but pomona is by far my number one choice and i want desperately to go see it. think they'd be generous enough? and to everyone else who is accepted, congratulations!

Hahha I purposely did not fill out that supplemental thing for athletes, but I will probably play basketball. I didn't want to be admitted with as a "recruit"... I don't know what I just thought it wouldn't mean as much to me... and because I hated basketball at the time because of my coach :P

It mostly made up for me not getting in to Brown, which was my first choice. I live in Nor Cal and it's between Pomona, Wesleyan and Johns Hopkins.

sat: 2300 (1570)
gpa: 3.9 unweighted, rank 41/398 (my weakness, but only because the rank isn't weighted, I have close to the toughest course load possible at my school and would be top 5 students if the rank/gpa were weighted)

recs: bio teacher who is narcoleptic and retiring this year wrote a really short generic paragraph, but it included one of a handful of top students in 35+ year teaching career. the other was from an english teacher who really loved me and though it wasn't very specific in the national merit application (which is the short early version that i read), it was very positive.

ECs: a lot of debate stuff (VP of a team of 300+) includingwith debate community service awards, a lot of community service at a downtown shelter for victims of domestic abuse, tennis, gsa, jsa even a little, key club.

I'm also thinking about Johns Hopkins, but it's pretty much down to Pomona v Wesleyan

I was accepted, but I was more excited with their generous financial aid! Holy cow, the Pomona scholarship is nearly a full ride. That pretty much decides where I'm going to college. :)

Accepted!!!!! WOO POMONA! In Fisk guide it sounds like a dream.
I have to decide where I want to go now, Pomona or Brown, based on financial aid.

I've got a bit of a problem now too...I'm having a lot of trouble deciding now between Harvey Mudd, Pomona, Cornell, and Amherst. I know that with Harvey Mudd and Pomona, cross-registration is possible to some extent, but I really cannot pick one over the other, especially after that financial aid offer from Pomona. o_O

I was so excited to get accepted! Pomona DOES sound like a dream...but I'm having a hard time deciding between Stanford, Pomona and sort of Georgetown. I'm going to visit the campus this month, and I'm going to the NYC reception, so hopefully I'll figure it out! Also, finaid was wonderful. :)
