Rejected in LA. Can’t say I wasn’t expecting it, but a little disappointed all the same. As of now, looks like I’m headed to UCLA. Congratulations to those who got in!!! And thank you to anyone who answered my questions along the way; I truly appreciate it. :)

my theory is that they sent out all the rejection letters to arrive today, as I have not heard of a single person in the US that has gotten accepted today.

so if you haven’t heard yet, don’t lose hope. we may be surprised at what we find in our mailbox tomorrow.

I am from Korea but I live in Seattle right now with my friend as a homestay student. My friend and I both applied to Pomona, but only he got his letter today. rejected… I am not sure where mine is… and I really hope that biochemphys’s theory is correct!

I just got my rejection letter from Pomona today too. I am seriously scared about my upcoming results from other universities! >.<

Congratulations to those who got into Pomona or at least waitlisted! :)

I got my acceptance package in the mail today. I live like an hour and a half away, so I guess that’s why mine got here before everyone else’s.

So they probably sent out all decisions today, good luck everyone!

My D’s first rejection letter came today from Pomona. It stung but getting an acceptance email from Scripps WITH the James E Scripps scholarship less than an hour after the rejection letter took away most of the disappointment. If she eventually choses Scripps, she can still take classes at Pomona anyhow. :-)

Rejected in the Bay Area. Didn’t expect to get in but rejection after rejection is all I’m seeing now I think my accepted days are over. Would have been nice to go here… Does anyone think an appeal might do anything for me? And if so what kinds of materials/information to put in my appeal?

We visited last month and were told that the decisions would be mailed on March 22nd. I believe there’s even a photo of the admissions office staff with the mailings either on Facebook or on the Pomona site. My child is admitted, we are simply waiting on the financial aid information. Still haven’t received it and we are in Chicago. Good luck to everyone.

By the way, the person who said that her daughter was rejected by Pomona but accepted at Scripps – did you say she got the James Scripps scholarship? If so, major congrats to you!

Received mine today, UK! ACCEPTED!

When will we receive info on financial aid?

STILL haven’t received anything. Int’l students also receiving mailed rejections?

I applied for financial aid and received a letter with my acceptance package from the Office of Financial Aid stating: ‘Your financial aid application has been carefully reviewed and, although you are not eligible for grant assistance, we feel the following programs will be helpful to your family for meeting college expenses’ it then goes on to list, Pomona College Payment Plan + employment, but no speak of the college giving me financial aid. Does this mean I don’t have any financial aid from the college, or do we receive financial aid information later? I’m an international so I’m not able to receive federal funds or anything like that, I think.

Received my acceptance today, in Greece!

But the financial aid award was SO disappointing.

I got a rejection… even though I expected it, it still stings…

Congratulations everyone who got in and waitlisted! :)

POmani, your income must be too big.
I’m also an international (no US citizenship) and was eligible for a grant.
You can’t receive a grant if your income is more than a certain amount ($200,000? I’m really not sure)

Is a grant different to financial aid?

Got in got in got in!!! cannot believe in i must be dreaming… the last four months have been soooo difficult and stressful to live through
Received FA - not as much as I applied for, but God will provide the rest
FYI - I was denied admission from about 10 colleges/universities before Pomona. There is a school for each one of you. Don’t lose hope.

POmani - no, I think grants are part of your aid…they differ from loans - you have to pay back loans, but not grants

I haven’t even received anything telling me how much my family have to pay.

Hmm… as Fani95 said: maybe your income is too big? U should contact the office u know…butter administration…:)
