Accepted!!! :)

I got the email before I got my letter. And I screamed when I read it. A lot. I’m going to Pomona as well :)

… but of course, since it hadn’t come yet, I kind of had assumed I’d been deferred so literally 10 minutes before I got that email I sent in the supplement to Middlebury (due tomorrow)… $65 I could have saved, but I won’t complain!

Congratulations to everyone who got in! And to people who don’t, I know my sister got deferred ED to Wash U a few years back but then got in RD (same with a bunch of my friends), but you really can just show your interest and get in, so don’t lose hope!!!

Also, question: I was also accepted to go on a Rotary Exchange Year next year. I’ve read of a lot of people deferring enrollment one year to take a gap year, but does anyone know how exactly I do this? I’m planning on emailing/calling admissions later…

PS - sorry this post is so long!

Accepted! I got the email before the letter, too. I’ve never posted on here before, but I’ve been obsessively reading this thread for the past week.

I’m so excited!! =D

MY BEST FRIEND JUST GOT IN!!! so stoked him and now I just have to wait for my Harvey Mudd decision and will hopefully be right near him.

Congrats to all the new Sagehens!!! Many hugs to those who were deferred or denied. Try to have faith that you will end up where you are truly meant to be, even though Pomona felt like the right college for you. Things will work out okay for you…

MomOGold, big congrats to your S!

Hi NJ Mom of 2!! :)

Thanks to the caller, and thank god for email:)

Good Luck to all, now they get to cluck through the gates in the fall.

Hi Bengal Mom
and congrats to all the class of 2015 Sagehens. You are SO lucky to be attending such a great school.

Congrats who everyone who got in! Thank you for the well-wishes too - it means a lot to me.

@VirologyNerd,
I really hope you make it into Pomona RD!
But as a back-up, you should check out Rice. Texas is a lot different than California, but when I visited Rice’s campus, it was great and had a very Pamona-like feel.
GOOD LUCK!

No mail today, but checked my email and there it was. Accepted
I’m beyond excited; it feels so unreal. My friends were getting really annoyed because all night I wouldn’t stop randomly interjecting “I just can’t believe it” into conversations lol

Congrats to everyone. I can’t wait to meet all of you!

I won’t be posting stats or anything as I don’t feel they even come close to telling the whole story. I’m typical good scores/good grades/involved, but that’s only part of the application.

Virology, I’ll be rooting for you in RD!

Thank you KYST17 and Ahriana! I hope to eventually see you at Pomona next year. Congrats to both of you :)

@KYST17, it’s funny that you recommend Rice because I just put it on my college list after having about six posters recommending it to me on another thread. This definitely confirms it! Thanks for the suggestion!

My daughter, Kansas City area, just got accepted to the class of 2015!! ED!!! We are all very happy.

Congrats to the new admits, from a parent of a very happy first-year student!

And a shoutout to VirologyNerd - a class act if ever I’ve seen one. You’re being incredibly gracious. I think we’re all pulling for you to be admitted RD, so best of luck. (But in response to your other thread seeking other LAC ideas, I second the vote for Davidson - it sounds like the kind of place you could like a lot. It was next on my D’s list if she hadn’t gotten into Pomona ED)

Thank you BengalMom!

@FauxNom: Why thank you
That was really sweet. I appreciate it.
(Re: Davidson - I actually just took it off my college list…It’s hard to distinguish one college from another. But maybe I’ll PM you about Davidson.)
