Pomona Financial Aid!

I really love Pomona College, however I am in a financial predicament. Not even considering admissions (which are a crapshoot, but I'm not too worried) Aid is my biggest concern. Since Pomona does not give merit aid and only gives financial need and my family is middle income ($120,000) How do students cope with debt or such?

I'm looking at scholarships, but apparently if you get scholarships Pomona just reduces the amount of money that they give you. Has anyone been forced not to attend because they cannot accept the debt? My parents would most likey have to take on the debt which really stinks because then i might not be able to go. Another question, how do students with debt, or even students who go on to Graduate School with little financial support manage? I can't imagine pre-med students with $100,000 in debt. oy! Someone please encourage me so i won't give up the dream!

i don't know if this will help or not but i'm going to pomona next yr and my family has about the same income. i got a 15000 grant in financial aid on the preliminary financial aid estimate. meaning i would pay about 30,000 a year... which is still alot. but im u get schlorship they take it out of ur student loans so its not like they r taking it out of money they are giving u, just money u would have to pay off later.

you can also just call the financial aid office and ask for more money, everyone I know who called them got a huge addition to their [already generous] financial aid packages
