So Pomona strongly encourages interviews.
However, they do not have interviewers everywhere.
My D received a letter saying that if she wanted to be interviewed, she had to travel to another town..... she's thinking about it now.

D's interviewer lived in another town, but he was willing to meet her at the local Starbuck's down the street for the interview. Perhaps there's a convenient halfway point?

i traveled 40 minutes to New Haven for my interview
for another school similar to Pomona I drove 1 1/2 hours to NYC.
it's totally worth it if she wants to a better chance of getting accepted... it really shows you're interested.

so i called today to ask about interviews and I guess the deadline is up and now they aren't offering any more. What should I do? Will this really hurt my application?

No, it won't hurt your application. Students who didn't interview have been accepted. Interviews help because it personalizes your application; the interviewer, and the College, get to learn more about you in person.
