I want to double major in International Relations and Affairs, and Economics, with as many majors as I can in useful and widely spoken languages such as French, German, etc. I already speak very fluent Arabic, Farsi, English, and Spanish, so that's a good start.

Pomona! Oldenborg was meant for someone like you. At lunch, you have the opportunity to sit at a language table of your choice (there are the usual ones such as Spanish but also a variety that rotates). Plus, it's also a residence hall (upperclasses only--no first-years). Have you already been accepted at both or just looking?

This is hard for me to say, being a HUGE fan of Pomona, but for the IR and econ majors i think CMC is the better choice.

I'm just a junior, looking for now. Thanks for your opinions.

Pomona, hands down.

I would say that if you're really serious about international relations and economics that CMC would be your best bet. But for languages, definitely Pomona for its Oldenborg dorm/dining hall programs. Also note that you could always go to Pomona and leech off of CMC courses.

You're only a junior. Visit and atttend info sessions at both, and apply to both. It's too early to limit your options.

My S was set on poly sci as a major jr year and only visited CMC. As a last moment thought he applied to Pomona, still more excited about CMC, Duke etc. By senior yr he was less sure of his major, still leaned towards Duke but visited Pomona during admitted students day and did not think twice after that. It has been the perfect school for him. His sr year economics teacher was a graduate of CMC and advised him to pick Pomona, larger college, more options, still can take CMC classes. And, of course both colleges offer a great education. CMC is a pretty small LAC. You can't go wrong with either college. Good luck on your journey!

Right winger? CMC. Left winger? Pomona.
