Pomona Supplement Topic- too off track?

Hey all! I was working on the Pomona supplement like a champ the other day, and came across a few concerns about the Pomona supplement topic:

"Although it may appear to the contrary, we do know that people have a life beyond what they do to get into college. Tell us about an experience you’ve had outside of your formal classroom and extracurricular activities that was just plain fun and why."

I started having a lot of fun with this essay like I hope they intended, talking about my first music concert and my HUGE crush on the artist. It was hella fun to write, but I was wondering if it was okay that I didn't analyze anything or learn any life experiences?

My essay is pretty much just describing a super fun time with friends and professing my love, and definitely completely random. It's just one of the nuances of my personality and wasn't that "deep", so is that okay? Also, you don't think AdComs would think of me as a stalker with unrealistic expectations, do you? :O

Thanks for the help!! Peace

I think it is meant simply as a fun essay. As a matter of fact, of all the schools (10) that my D applied to, I think this was the best essay prompt. My D wrote about how much she loves tasting new foods - nothing deep at all. She is now a VERY happy first year Pomona student.

my daughter is attending pomona and she didn’t do anything deep or analytical. she wrote about something that was just plain fun.

Thank you!

I just hope it doesn’t sounder stalker/obsessive, as I was trying to describe how much fun I felt instead of making a love letter lol.
