I didn't see this on here, but I figured there must be other applicants out there. Does anyone know when we hear back?

Yes there is one, but it’s not very active:

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/pomona-college/629660-transferring-pomona.html?highlight=pomona+transfer

We should hear back this week. I think last year acceptances may have gone out on the 12th by email? Or else that was Claremont McKenna. I applied last year for sophomore transfer and was rejected…Pomona is such an amazing school; I can’t wait to hear back this week.

CMC is releasing decisions by email on the 13th this year, but Pomona hasn’t said anything similar. It’s tough to tell from that thread when exactly decisions were released and how–I was wondering if anybody’d spoken to Pomona admissions directly about it. Also, I figured this would give a place for people to post stats once decisions do come out.

i called and they said they are sending out decisions via snail mail on the 15th

snail mail, as in normal mail? Ahhh I have to respond to another school by the 15th…

just got the letter today…rejected :(

stats:
College GPA: 4.0 Community College Honors Program
SAT: 2220
HS GPA: 3.17
Junior-Year applicant
Major: International Relations
EC’s: Associated Students, A bunch of on-campus committees, volunteer at animal shelter 3 years, etc.
Letters of Rec: pretty great
Essays: 8/10 (would be 9/10 if not for two big typos)

Sad…letter said they had to choose 10 out of 240.

Good luck anyone else applying!

Also rejected.
Pretty disappointed. Stellar applicant, great GPA (though average SATs, 1890), awesome rec letters (teacher basically said he thinks I am brilliant), essay - wonderful, thoughtful, clever.

I suppose we should have expected this applying to a school that can only accept this few applicants.

Condolences, guys… haven’t heard back on the east coast yet, will probably get word tomorrow or Tuesday. I wonder if there are ten spots for transfers to enroll, or if they can only accept ten. If it’s the first case, the acceptance rate should be about what it usually is, given that 265 applied and 13 enrolled last year. If it’s the latter case… Well, we tried!

Accepted in DE!!! What the hell?!

Vassar College GPA: 3.75
Midterm report: 4.0
High school GPA: 4.03W
ACT: 33
Major: Math
ECs: A cappella, lots of theatre, etc.

rejected. but they only accepted 10 transfers!! that’s crazy, but it makes me feel a little bit better that 96% of the applicants got rejected as well. :X but i really really wanted to go into their Philosophy, Politics & Economics program.
