Pomona vs Grinnell

Thoughts? Most likely studying biology. Pomona would cost a lot more.

Is it money you/your parents have, or are we talking taking on debt? How much is the cost differential ? Those things would figure heavily into the decision for me.

Pomona’s biology department is very strong, but I don’t know nearly as much about Grinnell. This decision is really between you and your parents; we can’t decide for you (or make any accurate prediction) if the extra cost of Pomona is worth it to you.

If you really truly do want to go to Pomona, discuss it with the financial aid office, and they may make their offer closer to Grinnell’s.

It really does depend on how much money… and whether you have it or have to borrow it. Doesn’t hurt to ask Pomona Financial Aid office if Pomona is your first choice. Comparing the schools academically - both are great schools but very different locations and feels. I wouldn’t go seriously into debt for either school, but especially not considering a bio major which doesn’t automatically lead to an easy lucrative job search.
