pomona's grading policy

does pomona have grade inflation policies like some top ivy league colleges?
and how hard is it to get a high gpa compared to other top colleges (berkely, ivies, etc...).

I would not count on grade inflation. My son who had mostly A's in high school is getting mainly B+'s, with an A thrown in here or there. He studies more than in high school but enjoys the studying more, it is more meaningful. Plan on a lot of reading, maybe 200 pages each week per class, many classes have papers each week, unless you are math/science. Maybe other students will pipe in. If you put the work in you will have a good GPA still. Students also seem to have a good balance in their life and seem very happy overall, unlike some schools were stress seems to prevail.

Not aware of any "policy" at Pomona or concern over grade inflation.
BTW, Pomona grades on a 12 point gpa system. 12 points for an A, 11 for an A-, 10 for a B+ etc.

grade inflation is more apparent in science/math courses, according to my sponsors and other upperclassmen i've talked to, which makes sense, since humanities is largely subjective. however, pomona does have grade inflation, though that does not mean you should expect straight As, like you may or may not have gotten in high school.

as for reading, i'm taking two humanities courses, but i only have about 60 pages to read a day on average. and as for papers, i've only written three major ones so far. maybe i lucked out with professors...
