I bet he wishes he hadn't given Princeton up.

Got into Harvard :)

I bet you wish you were me?

That is nice. :D

Do you think having the uncle there helped at all? If I recall correctly you said he JUST got a position at Harvard. How much pull would he have had?

Response to Calc's edit: No, I don't wish I were you. I wish I had gotten into Harvard or Penn though, but without having to worry every day for four years that I would get kicked out any minute.

How would I get kicked out any minute? And no my uncle really had no pull, I think he wrote a letter of recommendation, but to be honest, I don't even know that it got to them.

I've done nothing illegal? I got my grades without copying, took my SATs myself, did all the recs I said. I got in legitimately, and I think it's bs that you would say something like that.

I would be wary of your Harvard classmates - look at the way the Crimson picked out all of Kaavya's plagiarism. It's not likely to happen, but with your stats plastered on this board, I wouldn't be surprised if someone managed to find out who you are.

Nutmeg, aren't you an ivy reject? Let them find out who I am, let them call Princeton. I know Harvard and Princeton share ED lists. I'm free and clear. :) I've spoken to Harvard about all of this on Friday the 30th.

Well, let us think of it this way - at least Princeton is free of some rancid ivy.

You don't even know me, you belligerent fool.

Yup, ivy reject here, and though I'm not particularly proud of it, that's not very uncommon. How is this relevant to your weasling your way out of ED?

Why is all this necessary?

Would someone like to explain to me what all this ruckus is about?

It's completely relevant. Jealousy is what inspired this thread, anyone can see that. I got into Princeton and Harvard, you couldn't even get into the lesser ivies. Just shut up and mind your own business. :)

someone's a lil arrogant.

Who in their right mind would choose Harvard over Prinecton?? lol:)

so Calculus, compared to Princeton, did Harvard give you a better financial aid package?

your opinion is pretty much worthless if you consider Yale and Wharton to be "lesser".

A little recap for Ray:
Calculus got into Pton ED, but said from the beginning that he would much rather go to Harvard and that he was going to try to wiggle out of the ED contract.

Calculus, how difficult was it to get out of the ED contract? Did you have to make up stuff about financial problems or were you able to just say, "Look, I don't want to come"?

Calculus is something that rhymes with "hole", either a "troll" or an...

Technically Princeton cannot make their early decisions legally binding; in other words, if you get accepted to another school regular decision and that school allows you to go there (and decides not to honor Princeton's ED contract) then there is unfortunately nothing that Princeton can do.

However, opting out of an early decision contract is bad form and shows a serious lack of integrity and ethics on the part of the applicant. If I was a school I certainly wouldn't let someone attend who had breached an early decision contract, but I am not Harvard...
