Poor GPA and worries...please help :(

I'm just wondering what is "messed up" with the GPA ranking system? Seriously, do all schools these days (sounding like an old timer...) rank A-'s as 4.0's? If so, I'll start looking at my high school scores with a little more respect regarding the posters on these boards with 3.5+ GPA's...

Just curious...

As for your ambitions, I would definately concentrate on the robotics stuff for your CMU application since that is their specialty!

Also to some of you who say only one AP in their junior year of high school isn't a tough load...hate to break it to you, but some schools are harder acadmically and won't offer their AP's to people that aren't seniors. I graduated high school in '00 and my school (ranked #2 in county in PA) would only allow juniors to take AP History or AP Government (never both!) and only allowed seniors to take 3 AP courses senior year (but required you to take AP Calc if you took AP Physics). It's all relative to what your school allows you to take...or offers...

Sorry for being a bit harsh...but I'm sick :-P

Almost every school in MI ranks A-'s as 4.0's. It just so happens ours ranks it as a 3.67

UC's are incomprehensible to me ... but from what I understand the 'UC GPA' is important to them.

How do you calculate your "UC" GPA?
