So I am in a bit of a predicament. I have taken both the Math II and Physics SAT subject test and have failed to earn above a 700 on either one. Both of these are very relevant as I plan to apply to a computer science major in college. These results are very interesting to me, as I am taking both subjects at an advanced level. I am a year ahead in math currently in AP Calculus with solid A’s and AP Physics last year scoring a 4 on the test with A’s both semesters. My ACT score is a 33 with strong subscores in both math and science. The predicament for me is that I don’t feel that the subject tests align with what is taught in school, which for me makes it hard to pinpoint what I can improve on and how to study for it. Any advice? Also, how much will these subject test scores impact a college application if everything else (GPA, Other Test Scores, Extra-Curriculars…) is strong?
Why not get books in both topics and look at the curriculum-compare it to your text books. Identify the topics on the SAT2 that isn’t covered in your class. Then self study those areas.
