i don't see w hats so weak about ur stats??? u haven't even taken SAT... just do good get 700+ on each section and ur good to go.

Thanks for replying! :)
I will try as hard as I can. SAT is really hard...

By the way, I want to major in Chemistry... Should I do EC's which are related to chemistry? or should I keep on doing things I love, such as music, sining, etc. I do love chemistry too but I want to sing or do things related to music, etc. when I am not studying.

You guys all have a nice day! : )

???? where are the weak stats??... a 3.97 GPA?? umm ok

I never understand these kind of threads.

As a Stanford early admit, I'm just gonna say that youre gonna need to have something to offer besides just stats dude. Especially since asians tend to think stats will get them anywhere with no passions or spectacular EC's.

Thanks for replying!! :) yeah I agree.. but the reason why I am reallly worried is because I have low SAT... I mean PSAT. CR and W are not even close to 600. Only math.. I have confidence..
I really need to work on this. And I have great passion of studying chemistry in really good environment... I think I only need to write about the passion with good care... I am kind of still struggling with English...
Thanks for your comments!! : )

is my EC's too weak?

u mean ARE my EC's too weak...

and secondly, ur jumping the gun... ur EC's need work and so does your SAT. 3.97 is a guarantee admission if they only looksed at GPA.. so ur set just fine tune ur app

khtl0207, i think its great to have different pockets of interest. like you enjoy chemistry, but you also really enjoy music. i think this is the best kind of diversity you can have - it comes across that you're really into what you like doing, and arent just trying to do everything to look good on paper, and arent just narrowly focusing on one thing.

Thanks for replying guys!! :)
yeah I meant ARE my EC's too weak hahaha :)
I was just worried that I am not doing almost anything that I did in Korea. But I guess that I just have to do my best and keep pursuing my interests.
and thanks for encouragement!!

as an asian (Korean) student here too, I know how most of the asian parents and students fall into the "academics-is-what-matters-the-most" trap. I think you have a good advantage since you just came here slightly more than a year ago plus. Your interests on music seems creative, but just know that how many other students applying not only to Stanford, but to other top colleges may have similar passions as yours. Not to discourage you, but just be aware of that. So, As long as you have shown passion and dedication, you'l stand in a good position. Just do well on the SAT+SATIIs.

Thanks for replying!! :)
yea.. I think I should study hard for SAT and SAT2's first, doing activities that I like..
