Poor undergrad GPA, Have a goal but need help with a plan

As an undergrad I did very poorly; I graduated with a 2.3 GPA in biology from a top public university. I didn't do any internships and I have no research experience.

My ultimate goal is to get into a Physician Assistant program but for now I'm looking for a lab/medical related job. My resume is obviously extremely weak and it seems hopeless that I'll even get an entry-level job that would give me essential experience.

Where do I begin? I'm going to start volunteering as an EMT but other than that I don't know what to do to get a job, and get the lab/medical experience that will ultimately help me get into a PA program.

Is taking graduate classes as a non-matriculated student a good idea? I just can't waste anymore time/money so I'm trying to make my next move(s) count the most.

Thanks

I think you’ve got to call some P.A. departments and ask about GPA/experience needed. EMT is a common background for P.A. students. I don’t think a 2.3 GPA is going to get you in, no matter what experience you get. If your science classes were 3.0 or higher, maybe they’d consider you. There are so many jobs in the medical field. Do some research. I’m sure you will find something you’ll enjoy.
