Poor writing score on ACT - how does it affect me?

Hi this is my first post and I’m looking for some help!! I took my first ACT in December and got a 32. My English was a 34 and my Reading was a 31, and my writing score was a 22. I clearly didn’t know what I was doing even though I thought I was prepared. To me the 22 is super disappointing but I just wanted to know if anyone could shed some light as to how much this affects how good my score is, and how colleges will react.

Well I think more importantly are the essays that the you wrote for the specific college. I think they weight the writing of yours they get to read over the ACT writing score.

If you have loads of evidence that your writing is fine, I would not worry about it. Formulaic writing isn’t a skill that the colleges necessarily want students to adopt anyway.
