Pop Up Spam

Thanks to @DeniseC for pointing this out on the “ad jumping” thread.

For the last 2 days I’ve been getting pop up spam on my iPhone. The ads are all college related and they only appear on this website. I have to shut my phone down and reboot it to clear it.

The ads want to you to click on them to exit. The next time I see one I’ll take a screenshot.

Happening in my iPhone, too.

My pop up ads are for Thomas Edison State University.

I keep getting this too but not for colleges. It just says things about “viruses on your iPhone”

Mine are not college related. All want me click for various reasons, sometimes to win a prize, sometimes because of viruses.

I’m getting these too. Pop-up / redirect to a “Congratulations! You’ve been selected…”

Just got another. It redirects to get-in-today.com.

Yup, just go the same pop up ^^^^

Thanks for reporting! I’ve passed on the feedback to the team. I should get a response by Monday. Will make sure to update you when I hear back.

I screen shot the last one I got s few minutes ago but don’t know how or who to send it to.

I just started experiencing this today on my iPhone, only on this site. I don’t get it when on this site on my laptop. One pop-up was about a virus, another was saying I won something. Opens up covering the page and wants you to click ‘OK’ to continue (which I haven’t),

@DeniseC, I’ve responded via a PM. Thanks a lot!

I just got the “you’ve been selected,” when on CC, on my android. I could backspace then delete that tab. (Then pull up CC on a new tab.)

Ugh.

Same here. I got the one about being selected for some prizes…um…no.

Still getting here, too.

Should have mentioned, android cell.
Not since.

With my iphone is happening the same.

Again just now.

Guys, can those of you that took screenshots of the spam ads please send them to admin@collegeconfidential.com? Thanks a lot! We appreciate your help in fixing this issue.

Glad you’re looking into it. It was getting annoying. It seems to have gotten much better. Will take and send screen shots if it reoccurs.
