Popped collars?

hot pink often looks real nice on girls in my opinion...

I love pink, light and hot, for clothing.
I don't see how girls can't pull it off. I can understand the whole, not liking a guy who wears pink because it makes him girly, but girls look great in pink.

I don't! I look ridiculous in pink. Not fair...

I used to really dislike it ("it's so immature") but uncontrollably, I went through a pink phase last summer (and I guess I'm still in it.. >.<) and a lot of the clothes I bought were pink. My mom tell me I'm back to my 7 year old self...when I used to love pink. :o not cool at all

I like popped collars. Double points if the shirt is pink. It's a little more novel around here, though, and the general polo-wearing population leaves it unpopped.

I've thought about this some, and I'm not sure if I like frattiness because it's so 80s or if I like the 80s because they're so fratty.

And I'm either dumb or brave for posting this in such an anti-Greek world.

popped collars bothers me so much because so many people think they can carry off the look and they CAN'T! First of all, if you are going to pop it, at least make it a real 'popable collar' label that's authetic. Not every shirt with a collar can be popped and A&F does not count. Second, I see people with it popped and the collar looks like it's saturated and stiff with starch, that doesn't look right unless you are going for the Count Dracula look. Most importantly, people with a)short necks, b) fat necks, c)muscly or thick necks CANNOT wear popped collars. It makes them look ridiculous and frumpy. If it's touching your cheekbones or envoloping your earlobes and chin then please put the collar down! The worst is when a guy that's super thick and musculy with a short neck wears a really really tight A&F polo and walk around acting like the sun shines out of his a$$.

There was a phase when pink was a hot color for a guy, but IMO, that time has long passed.

A & F is not preppy...y'all should read "The Preppy Handbook" by Lisa Birnbach...it came out in the 80s and is really really funny (and mostly true)

Why do you even care what other people do? Worry about yourself.

Some people just don't know how to do popped collars. First of all, popped collars should never be black, only in pastel colors or white. Second of all polo shirts can be Lacoste,Polo, A&F, J Crew or Brooks Brothers, but never from Areopostal, Macy's, JC Penny or "Route 66", (you know what I'm talking about.) Lastly, polo shirts must never be tight, they are suppose to hang loosely on a tall, think torso. Muscle heads cannot and should not wear polos, (except if they are from New Jersey, then they can wear them going clubbing or "down the shore," with lots of glossy hair product and their Deisel shoes.) That's because Jersey guys are special.

I think it's hilarious how much people care about this stuff.

I'll stick to a random cheap/free shirt + jeans, thanks.

abercrombie and fitch is NOT preppy. seriously, after high school you have to throw that **** in the trash. Only polo, vineyard vines, and brooks brothers can be popped.

quote of the day, take it to heart

While 'leaning back' (haha) w/ rapper Fat Joe at last year's Grammys, he said to camera, "Real gangstaz wear pink." Last year, it was the hip-hop color of choice. Since then, it's been relegated back to its original preppy confines. Whatever the case, to the pink-phobic. It's a color. Get over it & pop ya collah. Hollah!

didn't golfers start the poped collar trend to keep their necks from being sunburned before the invention of suntan lotion? I think it's only pseudo-preps that pop their collars anyways, a true northeastern prep from the so called "old money" wouldn't dare pop his collar

intentially missing belt loops are "cool" at my school too. :)

I love pink!

real guys wear pink. those guys who posted earlier how pink isn't made for men are sorely wrong. I think pink is a great color for guys. The only shade of pink I would agree is terrible is the pastel pink.

and, for 80% of the people who wear their polos popped don't look good at all. make sure you can pull off the popped look and look trendy. most people who pop their collars look like dweebs and losers and pseudo preps.

i disagree and i think polos should be tight fighting. personally, i cant stand polos that look like shower curtains on people. a good polo should fit to your model type (slender, muscular, etc.) and look good on you. i cant tell you how many times people will sacrifice cost over quality. if your going to spend money on something buy something that acutally looks good.

I think fashionable and feminine men are cool (heck, I am one of them). I bet most of you folks are just too scared to acknowledge the beauty of fashion.

Or maybe we just don't care.
