"Popular Kids" after high school

There may not be a correlation, but I previewed a class while I was visiting Harvard, and the famous Pinker guy was lecturing on attractiveness, and how people tend to associate attractiveness with strength, success, kindness, and whatever positive trait you can think of. I found that kind of interesting.

On another note though, have any of you looked in the mirror one day and thought, "Wow, I look ugly." and the next day do the same and think, "Wow, I'm attractive." (well not in the same words but some thought close to it)??

I never really paid attention to myself.

There's 2 huge mirrors over my sink, so I brush my teeth in front of myself 2 or 3 times every day. There's simply nothing else to look at hehe.

I know what you mean. Whenever I look in the mirror after going out I wonder if I really looked that ****ty at the beginning of the night.

In some lighting I think that I look good and in some I don't look as good. It doesn't vary within the same mirror/lighting.

Reminds me of Darwin and his natural selection theory, commonly known as the "survival of the fittest." People judge based on looks in order to attract, copulate, and ultimately reproduce, in other words. First impressions make a big difference, and that's why you usually get more excited and have higher expectations about the contents of an extravagantly wrapped gift versus one that's totally sloppy made by someone who could care less--you know? Appearance, as superficial as it sounds and in spite of the saying "beauty is only skin deep," counts for a lot in terms of initial attraction and interest.

You obviously would not pay attention to anything a guy is saying, even if he is brilliant and the next Einstein, if he has unkempt hair, smells, hasn't showered, etc. You'd just be thinking, "GROSS!" and wouldn't care at all about his personality and character because his appearance is so distracting.

Just some food for thought :)

haha Einstein definitely had the unkempt hair

Well so does Donald Trump...
