popularity and your grades....

Well the definition of popularity can vary. If you mean well known, then infact I am. I am in the IB program and is in the top 5% of my class (out off 700+). I am well known and liked around the school since I am head news anchor of the school news. I hang out with all different stereotypical types of people (jocks, nerds, goths, ect) though many consider me to be in the "prep group". I don't play any sports except Aikido on the weekends, due to the fact that I am too busy with volunteering and obtaining leadership roles in clubs.

The #1 in my class is very popular and maintains excellent grades and also a social life. In the IB program like myself, play varsity football (team was 3rd in state) and does numerous volunteering if the opportunity is availible.

Most of the stereotypical nerds (lack of social life) at my school aren't that intellegent. They speak and act as if they are but in GPA and rank-wise, they stand below others.

It's all about time management.

Im everything popular plus sexy!

People that actually say they are "xxxy" are not. Theymust not be popular as well.

that is entirely a matter of personal opinion. A person might think of him/herself as sexy, while you think that he/she is ugly.

Everyone is sexy to someone.

and that is where personal prefrance comes in^^^

"Popular" kids aren't even the most attractive (at my school at least), they just dress attractive, I guess. I used to be good friends with all of them, but eventually realized what boring, unintelligent, fake people the majority are (mostly the girls). About 1/3 are actually good people, whom I still enjoy talking/hanging out with. I could still go up to almost anyone at my school and be fine talking to them, I just don't really see the sense anymore in being friends with people who all shop for the EXACT same styles at the same stores, have the same haircut, little personality, and plan on doing nothing in life.
That being said, most are actually fun to party with :)

Also, you know how in Mean Girls (greattt movie!) everyone knows about and seems enthralled with the Plastics? Well I don't know about other places, but at my school it's nothing like that. There are basically the "popular" kids, the cool kids, and then nerds/goths/druggies/whoever else. The popular kids and cool kids know each other, but very few nerds/etc. even know who the popular kids are, yet know pretty much all of the middle group.
So actually, now that I'm thinking about it, if the kids in the middle are known by/friends with more, why is the one group considered "popular"? Hmm... any ideas, I really am stumped.

^You have a point. I don't care to get to know much of the popular kids because they're basically all the same. If you meet one, you've met them all. So I only know the more interesting people at my school.

That's where the drama kids come in. :D

I'm associated with the pop. kids because of my athletics, and my CHAPPELLE'S SHOW imitations :) . But I just stick to ashy larry's "just be real wit it"

hmm.. drama kids at my school are part nerds, part goths, and the rest I guess are just... weird drama kids. :) They're all pretty nice though.

Yep. That's us. Minus the goths.

We've just got a zing you can't deny. ;)

hah I bet you do.

About how many performances does your school put on a year?

Two. We have a small school. 1200~

Same here (both statements), but we also have several all-school musicals that are made up of mostly drama kids, making for a total of around five.

dude just have confidence and .....be friendly? not that hard

The only reason I'm popular is because all my friends are popular and the reason I'm friends with them is because we grew up together and were kind of forced to hang out. I love them, but we're so different. I think a few of them care about grades like me, but it's not as easy for them to mantain the grades. Eh. Being popular isn't that great. People bother you while you're trying to study too much. Jk. But they do.

YAY for Drama kids!

Popularity is the most overrated thing of all time.

^ agreed.

Just be happy.

And I am :)
