If you were popular in high school, does that mean you will continue to be so in college and the rest of your life? If you weren't very well-liked, will you remain unpopular?

no. a lot of people from my highschool went to the same college i am, and people who were popular stuck together, have the same group of 10 friends, and are nobodies on campus.

no. and no.

Don't extrapolate from past experience that you must fit a prior trend of social failures. You define the quality of your life on a day to day basis.

Yeah that's exactly how things are. Everyone in college magically knows who the "popular" kids in high school were and all flock to them and bow down to their greatness. The rest of the kids are stuck being losers for all eternity.

Ok now seriously, I hope this thread is a joke...

I don't think there's really "popular" and "unpopular" in college like there is in high school, at least not if you go to a big school. You might be well known, like if you are SGA president, or something, but that doesn't automatically mean everyone's your best friend.

In my experience, most of the "popular" kids in high school are the Greeks in college, and Greeks tend to stick with one another. I personally was not very popular in high school, and neither were most of my friends from college. But that doesn't mean we are unpopular now. I have friends in a few different groups and I know several of my friends do too. We all go to parties and hang out with wide varieties of people, etc.

Absolutely not. I was unpopular in high school and not very many people liked me. In college, I have tones of friends and I'm very well known at my university including being elected to SGA.

in college everyone finds their niche, there were those groups in high school but that's high school. I think your popular in college if your on the football team that i guess is nationally ranked or something. Like USC

Many colleges are actually the inverse. Like at my school, many of the popular kids joined the few frats and sororities on campus- and everyone else thinks they're ridiculous. :P

The only people who are truly 'popular' in college are your star athletes, at least if you go to a big university.

what about just having most people liking you and being able to support you? I don't mean the kinda of artificial " popularity" you get in high school.

So, what, when we go to college, we're gonna need the assurance of all 5-20,000 people liking us? Not gonna happen, so don't worry about it.

you have to be kidding me. cc is really going down the drain
