I wanted to get an opinion actually because I checked BU Portal after seeing this thread and saw that it changed. It said School of Management before and now it doesn’t. Just says received application, change schools if you want, and application is complete, etc…

@rmui6768 I think it is good sign that your financial aid page says 2013/2014 academic year, if it did not used to say that and has just changed. Are you sure it did not always say that?

yeah, but look at just the people in this thread whose portals have changed.

proudmomx2 said her daughter’s portal changed and the daughter has a 34 ACT and is valedictorian out of 400 students. A 34 at BU is scholarship worthy, plus she is valedictorian. I read that only 2% of BU’s student body are valedictorian, so i bet it is willing to get as many as it can if it wants to start competing with more selective schools.

Also, even though i really like BU, i can not call it a super selective school, so students with above average scores should definitely be in. Its not like an ivy league where everyone has 2100 and above and you see kids being declined with a 2250.

What did the portals say before and after they changed for NYU?

My daughter’s changed as well, but I don’t think it’s a bad thing either.
32 ACT (33 SS), 4.2 GPA, top 5% of a class of 740, tons of EC’s, all honors and 12 AP’s , 100+ community service hours.
She got a $20000 scholarship to Northeastern early action and they are about as selective as BU, so don’t be discouraged if it changes!

I also got into Northeastern Business School EA with a $12,000 scholarship per year.
Which school did your daughter apply to at BU and Northeastern?

Copied this from my daughter’s portal. “We have received your application to Boston University for the September 2013 semester. If you would like to change the college or school of application, or if you would like to discuss your application…”
Many people are saying this is a change, but I am certain that this has been the same thing my daughter has been seeing for a few weeks.
As for the financial aid, unlike some schools, it looks like BU will only be asking for additional info “if” you get accepted. Therefore, unlike the NYU theory, seeing the Financial Aid year doesn’t seem to mean anything at BU.
