From the portal: The Online Status Check will be unavailable in preparation for the release of freshman admission decisions from Tuesday, December 16th at 11:00 p.m. Eastern Time through late afternoon Wednesday, December 17th. We apologize for the inconvenience.

So decision release earlier than 12/17 seems unlikely.

I could also see this being because of grades being due and being released during the same time frame. Since being late with grades can come with a significant penalty for professors, the system really needs to be up and running through the deadline for grade submission (and probably the next 24-36 hours or so, just in case of late grades).

Since a lot of people here are asking about whether decisions might be released early, I am sure FSU Admissions is getting hounded with phone calls and emails asking the same thing. This is probably just something to hopefully dissuade everyone from bombarding the system while it really needs to stay online.

I still say that around 5-6pm the day before, some admissions decisions will start trickling out. FSU’s financial systems update around that time, and if you owe an admissions deposit, it means that you have been accepted.
