Portfolio accepted at NPD at Syracuse. Am I in?

My visual arts portfolio was accepted as a final portfolio ( even tho I did not offer it as final) at a NPD in Hartford CT. I am applying ED to SU. They told me not to send my portfolio on line, it is accepted and just get the rest of the application in and I have a very, very good chance of getting in ED. Told me three times, do not send in your portfolio, it is already accepted. So, have completed the app and also sent in my art resume, etc. does this mean I should be confident that I am accepted? Encouraged but still nervous. Full pay and out of state.

My daughter was told the same thing by SU @ NPD @ U hart. She is not applying ED and is finishing up her supp essay right now. I think what that means is that if you get accepted to the University, the Art department will accept you without having to submit your portfolio online and again wait for another acceptance.

Thanks so much. It was that snowy day, right? I don’t know how much collaboration the art dept. has if they have already accepted your portfolio. I am assuming there is some connection with Admissions but you never know. Thanks again.

Yes, it was so bad we had to spend the night with friends. They had no power, but took us in so we didn’t have to travel the 3 hours home in that horrible storm! Good luck with your SU admission! My daughter’s bf is a sophmore there and loves it!

My kid had the same thing happen two years ago at NPD. She was later accepted at Syracuse and I had wondered about merit scholarships for her art… Not sure how they worked that – with no portfolio sent. Anyway, a merit scholarship was included as part of her offer package when she was accepted. She ultimately chose a different school, but it was nice to know that she got accepted to SU.
