Portfolio for Architecture undergrad admission

What should be in an Architecture portfolio for freshmen admissions?
I am a senior planning to choose architecture as major, but i was surprised when some college apps require portfolio. I don't know any techniques in Architecture. Do they expect high-quality CAD drawings?

Requirement for UCLA:
"Create and submit a portfolio of original work. Please feel free to submit works in different styles, mediums and/or concepts."

Renee, what they want to see is creativity, a good sense of proportion, a sense of color, etc. What they don’t want to see are the CAD drawings you produced in your high school drafting classes. Any of your art portfolio from your high school art classes is good as well as any independent sketching that you may have done.
