We received a request from Adelphi University asking for a "portfolio review". Their website does not clarify what exactly this is or if there is a form to fill out. I left a message at Adelphi and sent an email. In the mean time, anyone have any idea what this is? Thank you for your time.

What type of major are your pursuing? A “portfolio review” to my knowledge is required when one is majoring in the arts. My son, who will attending college in September majoring in Photography, has had to put together a portfolio of all his photos, plus sketches, for colleges to review to see if he has the required talent/interest to enter their particular program. Usually, appointments will be set up to review your portfolio if it is a required. Usually though, you start working on your portfolio in your senior year of high school so that it is all ready when you go to apply to colleges.

My son had to put a portfolio together as well as a Graphic Design major. Usually the art dept. website has the portfolio requirements for you.

I know that kids from our high school who plan to go to art schools or major in art generally work on their portfolios during junior and senior year of high school.

I get those types of requests from financial advisors.
