I'm going to shoot my portfolio with a digital camera. It's 5 mp and I'll use a tripod. With photoshop I'll have TOTAL control of the end results. I've googled several online processors that will allow me to upload my images and then will mail me back slides for about $2.50 each. For example:

But I don't know these guys. I would just be selecting one not knowing if they're any good. I would appreciate any guidance, recommendations, tips...
Thanks!

I would order a few slides from each and judge by that, especially since the first one offers a free trial of two slides. Let us know how they turn out! I might try this myself since most of my images from undergrad are digital already! Thanks for sharing your find with us.

Do you have to create color slides?? I thought so too til I found out I can create my slide show in Powerpoint for my portfolio submission. You can shoot your work and readjust the size and placement in Photoshop then import into Powerpoint. The total size page in Powerpoint is 7.5x10. You can save our PPT on CD and put a slick artsy cd cover and cd sleeve on it.
Just a thought...

Different schools have different requirements. Some really do still require slides - probably about half of the ones I'm applying to.

I would personally never use Colorslide - if you look at their info page, they say they reduce your work to 85% to eliminate cropping. This also makes it so that every single slide has a black edging on it, which is unacceptable to me. Neither of the sites that Da5is posted do this.

Their interface is very easy to use. Duplicate sets are much cheaper than the first set, so I would advise getting as many sets as you need of at least a few of your finished pieces.

turnaround time was only a couple of days and communication was excellent.
