I just applied there for film. What's the atmosphere/people/life like in Oregon? And this may be a stereotype, but I heard ALL Oregon high students go to Portland State or Univ of Oregon or colleges IN Oregon. Is that true? Are you from Oregon and is attending an Oregon college or did you apply to places in California?

Portland is a wonderful city full of culture and all kinds of activities. I believe PSU is right in the middle of downtown. People are generally pretty laidback and outdoorsy, a mixture of liberal and conservative – more liberal in the city. Of course, there are all kinds of people everywhere. Being on the Pacific Rim, Portland tends to have more Asians and Caucasians. Powell’s is the best bookstore in the world – ask anyone who’s been. :)

In two generations of Oregonians in my husband’s family, five out of eight have gone out of state for college.

Where are you from? Pacific Northwest weather tends to lack sunshine, but the temperatures are generally warmer than elsewhere in the winter, and it doesn’t pour rain all the time. Drizzle is more common. Summers are gorgeous. Everything is green.

I am from the Bay Area in California. I got rejected from all the UCs and I don’t have a back up plan and I am ****less.
