Posse Scholarship Candidates Fall 2019

I am a finalist for the University of Wisconsin-Madison! I am from New York and that was my first choice.

@Ernie0707 Good luck to you!

Congratulations, @Ernie0707, and good luck! Wisconsin really loves its Posse Scholars and the program in general (they have Posses from four cities).

My daughter was matched with her first choice (Tulane) yesterday 10/25 through email. She was told once she confirms her finalists position, a mandatory meeting (with guardian) next week will be scheduled. Of course she confirmed immediately! We also started to get concern when we didn’t hear anything
and suddenly the email she’s been waiting on came through.

I believe the mandatory meeting is to finalize the early decision application with your match school (which all semi-finalist should had been advised to start filling this out but NOT submit)
She’s had her application ready for over a month, lol!

Also, she’s a candidate through the Posse Los Angeles office.

Wishing you all the best in what your heart desires!

Any Posse Los Angeles Finalists here?

Hi, does anyone know if no email or response means your automatically not a finalist? Even if it wasn’t an acceptance email, wouldn’t they send at least a rejection one?

Congrats to you & your daughter. Tulane is awesome & is my daughter’s top choice. However, she was selected as a Posse Finalist by UVA and is awaiting the final interview in December. Thankfully, she’s excited about both options and decided that she’ll definitely apply to Tulane’s grad/med school if she’s selected for the Posse Scholarship at UVA. Like CA, TX has excellent choices but it will be a great experience for them. Best wishes!

Hi Acuriousgirl, I’d contact the local Posse office. Perhaps you missed a call from them.

@lajentx thank you! Congrats to you and your daughter as well, I agree UVA will work out just fine for your daughter. That’s another great school, most of Posse’s schools are top notch. She definitely must be stellar to make it this far as a Finalists and sounds like she has a game plan, good for her! So now we wait until December.

Even though my daughter said she wouldn’t get her hopes up and get “married” to a school, I think its too late …she’s “in love”. lol! She talks about this school almost everyday. Best wishes things work in their favor, I agree this program/foundation is a great opportunity to be part of.

@Acuriousgirl, I agree that I would contact the office. We were told that they will send out something if you didn’t make it to DAP3, but reach out to them because you never know. Good Luck!

@lajentx Posse is very good at pairing students with the college at which they will do best, which is often not their first or even second choice. My D19’s first choice was Pomona, but she was paired instead with Middlebury. It is an amazing fit, and, two months into the school year, she couldn’t be happier.

With a 90% 4-year graduation rate, they evidently know what they’re doing.

@Hopejoy @lajentx Thank you both for your suggestion! I will most definitely do that this weekend as I think my unhealthy refreshing of my inbox in the hopes of hearing something for Posse LA for the past two weeks needs to stop. I do wonder though, if different schools means emails are sent out at different times?

@Acuriousgirl the Posse Houston office was in charge of contacting all of the finalists here as I understand it. The Posse Finalists have not had any direct contact with the Posse Partner schools so far. The partner school admissions staff will be present during the final interview in December. All of the finalists here were notified at different times, not necessarily the same day/week. My fingers are crossed for you, I’m sure it’ll all work out!!
