posse scholarship

so i just moved into the united states with my mum from an African country abt a year and 4 month and i just a month ago i got an email saying ive bin nominated for the posse scholarship..even thought its a very great opportunity an still scared i might not make it cos of my sat scores..
Am good wif school work, clubs, community services and a whole lot. i feel other students who are taking Honors and AP classes might have a great advantage over me. i really want this scholarship buh i dunno if am a good candidate or not..i tried my best to do well in school..but SAT's are my only problem..i dnt seem to get it no matter how long i study

Posse is more a leadership scholarship than it is one of who ever has the highest scores gets the scholarship. There will be a series of interview and group activities, which you will be evaluated on how well you work with others. In the end the schools, decide on the Posses. The key to posse is that each posse (about 140 coming out of NYC, which has one of the bigger possess) go to school in groups of 10, where they are supporting each other through this new journey in their life.

Remember that Posse is a full tuition scholarship, not a full ride scholarship. You will still have to apply for financial aid and may have to meet your EFc when it comes to paying for fees, room and board.

Take a look at this [CC discussion](http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/grinnell-college/518212-la-times-article-about-grinnell-posse-program.html) about the Posse program at Grinnell College. It references [this newspaper article](An L.A. 'posse' passes its Iowa test). As sybbie noted, Posse is about a lot more than just test scores. It’s an amazing program - best of luck!!!
