Posse Scholarship

@fallenchemist‌ thank you sooooo much! And I’m in Miami and will call tomorrow morning, thank you again.

I am a Posse scholar. As someone who went through the process, I’ll tell you straight up that the state of not knowing is going to be normal. My advice is to try to ask, but Posse tends to not give detailed answers. Just go with it and prepare as best you can. Follow their instructions and follow through with it.

@may129 - That’s great to hear from someone in the program. Thanks. How long have you been in the program? What year are you at your university? And most important, I think, how are you finding the program in helping you succeed at your school?

Edit - I just peeked at your other posts and it looks like you are at Bucknell and just finished your second year, and you came out of the Los Angeles group? Did I get that right? Bucknell is a very fine school. Must be kind of a shock after LA though. It’s pretty rural there.

@fallenchemist‌ I’m going into my Junior year. Technically, you start the program in your senior year of high school so I’ve been a part of the program for 3 full years and I’m going on to my fourth. I think my program is an interesting one in that you’re placed in a completely different situation and it’s difficult adjusting especially in your first year. There are more challenges you face because you decide to take a risk and leave your comfort zone. But, there is a lot of support that you gain in terms of faculty, mentors, career advice, career experience, and academic guidance. You have access to a lot of resources and it is up to you to utilize those resources.

@may129 - I am familiar with the basics of the program because Tulane has several years of groups at the school. In fact, I know one of the Posse students from the first group at Tulane will be attending med school at University of Southern California this fall.

Congrats on being willing to make the leap and take advantage of a superior educational experience. Best of luck as you finish at Bucknell.
