Has anyone received any merit based incentive scholarship money from GU? I read thru all threads and only things I could find was awards based on need.

I know one student from our high school that got good award 3 years back from GU. But I know recently colleges are not so generous.

It should be noted that the incentive scholarships that exist also have a need-based component; that is, they are targeted toward those eligible for financial aid.

The reason I am confused is because the student who I know got a very good scholarship did not meet any need based calculation (family income > 200k). So the scholarship was based only on merit.

Are there any students in current year that got merit scholarship?

Trying to figure out if there is any chance of merit based aid for good students who choose GU instead of a ivy league school

The John Carroll Scholarships award outstanding students who have demonstrated financial need. You have to be nominated from within the university–an admissions officer or a department head. The award usually reduces the amount of your student loan or your work/study and not the family’s actual payment. This may be the only “merit” award that Georgetown gives.
