<p>I'm currently attending a CCC, Diablo Valley College, and I do not want to be in DVC for more than 2 years. I'm close to finishing my first year.
My major is Molecular and Cell Biology.
And I have heard that transferring into a science major within 2 years is next to impossible.
I have my schedules all planned out, and I thought it was going to work but there are just so many students all trying to get into classes that are very limited, due to ... ah you know that part. So my planned courses needed to be rescheduled to later times.
I might be missing one or two classes that are part of the major requirement since they are beyond the Spring term before transfer year.
I'm trying to TAG into all of the accepting UCs. In my TAG agreement, I won't be putting in those one or two classes.</p>
<p>Will UCB and UCLA look down on me if I missed one or two classes, and will the TAG work for me?</p>
<p>Thanks in advance.</p>
<p>Transferring in 2 years is totally possible. Engineering students have it worse and they still transfer.</p>
<p>Finish all the pre-reqs that you can but at least the bare minimum to transfer. There are guidelines for the minimum if you look at assist.org.</p>
<p>That is what I was basing my predicament on.
I don’t think I’m able to complete a few courses that are listed in the Transfer Agreements in assist.org.</p>
<p>Finish the minimum at least. </p>
<p>UCLA’s minimum is this:
At minimum, you should complete one year of biology with laboratory, one year of
general chemistry with laboratory, one year of calculus and one semester of
organic chemistry with laboratory.</p>

<p>At UCI it is this:
All applicants must complete one year of general chemistry<br>
(with laboratory) with grades of B or better, complete courses equivalent to UC
Irvine’s BIO SCI 93, 94, 100L with a C or better in each course and have a<br>
cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.</p>

<p>Honestly, I don’t think it is that difficult to finish at least 1 year of bio and 1 year of g-chem + IGETC.</p>
<p>Also I wouldn’t worry about transferring in 2 years if you didn’t finish most of the pre-reqs. Just stay another year because you will probably spend that year at the UC making up those courses anyways. That is just a waste of money if do.</p>
<p>I might as well have to stay another year just to finish the minimum.</p>
<p>Thanks for the help.</p>
