Possibility of Getting into CMU SCS ED as Undergraduate?

We immigrated here only two years ago and didn’t have any previous education completely in English.

In a really competitive school in Massachusetts

Hope to further study in Networks instead of purely programming

Admitted by CMU Pre College Program Summer Session major in Computer Science with Full Tuition Scholarship this year

Unweighted GPA: 3.89
Weighted GPA: School doesn’t provide one

Self Calculated GPA:
Freshman UW: 3.67 (It’s really weird calculation and normal school in China don’t use GPA
Sophomore(First year here and first time studied in full English) UW: 3.76 W: 3.81
Junior UW: 4.14 W: 4.59

SAT: Last time took the test was December(also first time), the rest tests were cancelled
ACT: None

TOEFL: 102 (27 R 27 L 23 S 25 W) also in December

AP: Only takes AP in Junior because of previous background (transfer and immigrant)

AP scores are not coming out yet.

AP Chemistry and AP Computer Science Principles in Junior

Planned to take AP Computer Science A, AP Physics, AP Calculus AB in Senior year.

Thank you for checking through this.

Hard to tell based on no standardized test scores (you say “Last time took the test was December” but provide no scores that I can see) and lack of clarity on GPA. GPA is usually stated on a 4.0 scale, so “UW: 4.14” doesn’t make sense.

SCS’s acceptance rate is under 7%, the average unweighted GPA is 3.96 and mid 50% SAT about 1550-1590.

SCS is a longshot for pretty much everyone. 3.67 and 3.76, if accurate, will make it quite difficult.

It’s on 4.0 scale. The 3.67 and 3.74 is for freshman year and sophomore year only. The cumulative GPA given by school is 3.89/4.0

Just regard 4.14 as 4.0 because some of calculator regards A+ as 4.33 instead of 4.0

And rather no to reveal the SAT because of some incidents happened on the test day.

Got 1390 on PSAT in October 2019
