so is anyone else worried about this? i've heard scary statistics about the infection rates coming this year...

seeing as we will have a new class coming from all over the world...the chances of contagion are high...

personal note: i currently do not have access to internet at home so i will be on and off periodically (sorry to whoever misses my lackluster wisdom)

^That makes the rest of us feel just great. lol.

I also heard that there is a shortage, but that there’s definitely enough available to vaccinate the most susceptible (i.e. young children, pregnant women, ect.).

This was only a class of about 1300 and they were able to put these students in isolation quickly. Not really sure that a “regular” college would have that ability.

As for the vaccine. There is no vaccine available yet that I am aware of. I believe it is scheduled to be ready in Sept or Oct. and in an email sent out from Cornell yesterday, Susan Murphy mentioned that shots would be available to all enrolled students free.

How did you find out about the flu shots and how do we get them? I didn’t get an email or anything. It would be helpful because my doctor is “out of” flu shots, believe it or not.

Unless you already have some major immunodeficiency, you are not going to die. You will have regular flu-like symptoms, and will get over it, like the flu.
