Possible Acceptance?

GWU is my top choice university at this point and i was wondering if it were possible to be accepted. I'm going to be a junior but i want some input of what i should improve on and what i should do to increase the chances of me getting accepted, as well as receiving a financial aid reward. I still have some time until the college process, but any feedback is appreciated :]

Male

My parents are not willing to contribute any sort of money towards tuition
First individual of my family to attend college

So far, I've received 4s on all of my AP exams
Total of 11 AP Classes

At the end of senior year, I would have taken 8 Honors Classes as well.

For Extracurriculars/Volunteerism I have:
2 years of Track and Field
1 year of a Cultural club
1 year of student government (rep)
1 year of charity projects for the Afghan Institute of Learning through New Global Citizens
1 year of Charity projects for the Smile Group (AIDS in Vietnam) through NGC
2 years of Teen Criminal Restorative Justice (Teen Court President)
2 years of the Math club
2 years of Academic Decathlon
1 year of the Arizona State University Quizbowl

Currently, I'm ranked about top 15% of my class. Really trying to bring it down to 10%.
As for SATs, I haven't taken them yet but I've taken the PSAT at the beginning of sophomore year and I scored a 1700, which was pretty bad. I know it would be a lot higher by now though.
I'm planning to take the World History SAT II, the Biology(e) SAT II, and the Math 1 SAT II.

I know some schools check the high school's history so my high school was formed about 5 years ago as a college prep program. So far, we've had 3 Harvard Acceptances, 1 Georgetown acceptance with a massive scholarship, an American University student with a large scholarship as well, and many more. We have assemblies at the end of the year to showcase.

So, do i have a chance? at Financial Aid? at the Honors program? thanks a heap :]

Too early - check back when SAT/ACT scores available. these scorea are a BIG part of admissions decisions and scholarships. PSAT’s mean nothing.

Unwilling, not unable, right?

Those stats would probably get you into GW, but they’re going to expect a financial contribution from your family. Probably a significant one. GW is just plain expensive, and so is Washington, DC. And so is getting there from Arizona.

If your parents are able but unwilling to pay anything for you to go to college, you need to stop thinking of dream universities, and start looking very hard for universities that will pay top dollar to get you to attend. Those are usually colleges or universities where you’re in the top few percent of their applicant pool.

Full rides exist, but they are very rare. Usually you can score one only when you could have attended a much more selective institution than the one that offered you a full ride.

If your parents seriously won’t pay anything, you have a much bigger problem than whether you can get into GW. Especially if they can pay something, but choose not to. If this is literally the case, I suggest you seek advice in the Financial Aid forum on CC. There are a lot of regular posters there with extraordinary knowledge and experience.
