I know that they are thinking about AP world Ancient but are there any other possible exams they might add and we can sign/petition for but I don’t know where to find them. I am mildly interested in AP world ancient but I am taking modern this year so I figured what other exams might they add.
No others have been announced. And any potential new ones, including Ancient World History, will not occur while the current group of high school students is still in HS.
To be useful for the stated purpose (advanced placement in college), they would have to be aimed at common introductory level college courses that are reasonably similar across various colleges, and where high schools have the capability of teaching advanced level (for high school) courses. But are there that many (or any) such subject areas left?
Yes. With 50K students taking BC before
Senior year, MVC comes immediately to mind. As I have been pushing for years
Anything’s possible. I don’t think anything is likely or imminent. If you’re already “highschooler”, I’d say there’s near zero chance of anything during your HS career, including Ancient.
I agree that an advanced math topic would be widely subscribed - the head of our math department has not suggestions for my D who finishes BC as a Junior. While he confirms it’s a growing trend (7 kids this year), “we’re just not equipped to handle another course”. He’s the only BC teacher and doesn’t even know what they will do when he retires in a couple of years.
I suspect many schools are in that position. Having common material from a 3rd party would solve half the problem. Finding a HS teacher with enough math background to teach would be the other.
