possible D in senior year- is it over for me ?

hey guys so it’s my senior year and i recently applied to a bunch of UC’s and CSU’s. the one i’d actually really love to get into is San Fran State. the thing is though, as finals approach I feel as though i’m at high risk for ending AP US Government with a D. I completed all of my A-G courses and even went beyond that and am going to graduate with far more credits than i even need. But i heard that if you receive a D in your senior year, it’s basically impossible to get in anywhere. The rest of my transcript is pretty good, but i’m just so scared of this D in my first semester is gonna ruin everything. what do you think ? will SFSU reject me ? :frowning:

Rule of thumb is no D’s or F’s Senior year for any a-g courses regardless if you have met the requirements or not. With that said, each school will determine if your acceptance will be rescinded or not, based on their case by case review. Some schools are more tolerant than others when it comes to Senior grades. The UC’s will expect you to notify them if you do receive a D or F.

If there are changes to your academic record…

Freshmen: If you change schools, add or drop a course, or fail to earn a C or better in a course after you submit your application, you must notify the UC Application Center by email or postal mail. Your correspondence must include your name, UC Application ID number and your signature (if you mail a letter), and will be available to all the campuses to which you applied.

If you receive an offer of admission, be sure to confirm with the campus admission office that they are aware of the deficient grade or schedule changes. Although you must notify the campus of these changes, we cannot guarantee that a campus can go back to review an application after correspondence has been received. Make sure to save a copy of your correspondence just in case.

For the CSU’s, you should notify each school as soon as possible to see if they can offer you other options to maintain your acceptance.

All you can do right now is study hard for that final and try to pull off at least a C-. Best of luck.
